Hi all.
I have the Godwars 2 sounds.
In order to use them with vipmud do I just put the downloaded folders into vipmud sounds or do I need to create another special directory for them?
Cheers.
From John.

John:
I tried it also but when I went on game I was told that vip does not support msp. They said it worked great for them in mush client. I am not sure if this is true but concerned if not. I do know that there have been other muds that it did not work on either. We need to ask David about this.

Hello all,
Yes VipMud does support MSP. I got the godwars sound pack to work just fine. After I unzipped it I took each individual folder, like spells, and put it in the VipMud sounds folder. Dont put the Gw2 soundpack in its own subfolder in VipMuds sounds folder. As I previously said above you have to take each individual folder of the soundpack and place it in VipMuds sound folder.
Hope this helps,
Greg W.

The soundpack got so large that it had to be converted to mp3, so make sure you've got the version with the mp3 files. I was online when some of the players claimed that VipMud doesn't support MSP, but because I've never used VipMud myself I didn't know at the time that they were wrong.
And Greg is correct, the files don't go into their own folder, just into the normal sounds folder. In retrospect that was probably a bit silly – I assume other muds usually have their own folders? I can add that as a configurable option if you like, so that the sounds don't get mixed up with those of other muds.

Re: Godwars 2Hi.
Where can I get the mp3 sound pack?
So the different folders like spells etc you keep the sounds in those folders but keep them in the sounds folder?
You can download the mp3 soundpack from http://www.godwars2.org/msp (this address is also given in the game when you type 'help msp').
Download it into your sounds folder and then unzip it. It will create folders for combat, equipment, magic, etc – leave the sound files in those folders. Then type 'config msp' in the mud to activate msp. You can also type 'msp' to view the list of msp options, allowing you to switch off certain types of sound.
